“Cinco de Mayo” Celebration a Success!
Donna I.S.D. schools joined together with the W.A. Todd Ninth Grade Campus for the 7th Annual “Cinco de Mayo” Celebration at the Bennie LaPrade Stadium on Friday, May 7, 2010. There were performances presented by the students, food, games, contests, picture booths, and performances by “Mundo de Magia” and “Mariachi Mundial “(sponsored by The Majestic Ballroom in Edcouch). The "Batalla de Puebla" is remembered by the date "Cinco de Mayo" in which the Mexicans were losing the battle in Puebla and with much pride and determination they defeated the French. The date is celebrated because it symbolizes pride of the Mexican heritage. Thank you, to all who participated and attended.
