Dean of Instruction
I am the dean of instruction at Todd M.S in Donna. This is my 18th year in education; I taught reading and language arts at Veterans for 10 years. When I was a teacher, I was an AVID reading teacher, department head and co-department head, UIL coordinator and coach, and team leader. In 2010, I was teacher of the year at Veterans. I was a bilingual strategist for 4 and half years, and have been at Todd as dean for 4 years now. I have an associates in Early Childhood from Central Texas College, a bachelor’s in Communication Studies with a minor in education from University of Maryland University College, a master’s in Education Leadership from UT-Texas in Edinburg, and a second master’s in Bilingual Education from UTRGV. I help our administrators where needed from duty to sitting in on meetings, along with taking care of all the testing preparations and testing assignments for comprehensive exams, benchmarks, TELPAS, and STAAR. As Dean, I also oversee Response to intervention (MTSS), ELLA forms (EB accommodations/MOY LPAC), and the science department.
